[YAAFM 11: Scientology]

good, but...bad

This movie's graphics are neat and clean, and it's use of humor is pointed, but flawed. Now, firstly, I don't believe in scientology, but I cannot ignore the snipes made at Judaism, and Catholicism. The hierarchy and political structure of a religion is not the same as it's core beliefs. And if you are accusing people of being "FM"s, then the use of stereotypes, such as pedophile priests and ornery rabbis, is not conducive to conveying your point accurately. It's narrowminded whenever you openly attack a religion, even scientology. It is just as reactionary as the KKK openly attacking Jews and Blacks. Pedophilia in the priesthood has been blown skigh high by the media. If you want the truth of the matter, that is that 1 out of 62 priests ever breaks celibacy, and over 90% of those cases are with adult women. More than 95%of the remaining 10% is with adult gay men. Neither of those is illegel, unless the government decides to outlaw sex. Do the math, now. 1/62 x 1/10 x 1/20, to make it easier. You end up getting 0.00008064516129% of the priesthood. look it up. I did. That's lower than laymen. Funny, but I can't recomment this movie to anyone.

That was absolutely hilarious

That was probably the best MGS parody I've ever seen. Bravo, bravo.

[Tears of Red]

Everyone should see this flash

A lot of flash movies that try to be emotional and inspiring end up just being sappy, but this one manages to avoid that and leave you with bittersweet feelings at the end. It was sad, yet happy, and had some...interesting humor in it that did a good job of providing an emotional progression from feeling lost, to nostalgic, to sad, and then finally we are provided with a thought provoking ending that reminds us that we are never left alone, even by those that go ahead of us from this world. The fight underneath the tree didn't make much sense, but it looked nice. And the directing was brilliant. In short, it was one of the most thought provoking flashes I've ever seen, and provides some real insight into the nature of true friendship.

[WW2]

better than the sum of it's parts

The historical information provided after each cinematic scene was well presented and interesting to read after watching some Advance Wars sprites blast each other to hell. The actual animation was a bit undercooked, but the scenes were still fun. They were better directed than they were animated, especially the almost brilliant Stalingrad sniper scene. Not only is this a good class project, it's an entertaining and informative look at world war 2 which blends good direction, decent animation, and historical accuracy to become better than the sum of it's parts.

[Halo Armageddon]

Ahhh...sweet memories of worms...

That was amazing! A near perfect recreation of the gameplay of Worms Armageddon, with clever use of Halo characters. It really almost looked like a game of Worms! And the way you did the environment blowing up, and the sounds matching up to the animation was perfect! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to vote this a five, and then re-intsall Worms Armageddon!

Over the top

This movie is awesome! The action in this series is amazing, and has now surpassed the Madness series in its deliverance of satisfyingly over-the-top mindless action, and shares with the Star Wars prequels the sense that a Jedi is a total badass. The sounds were well implemented, but for a nitpicky Star Wars geek like myself, the lightsaber sounds weren't entirely accurate...but other than that it was some of the best fighting ever seen in a flash movie.

You raise an excellent point here...

Your work here has a layer of metaphysicality that makes it so compelling. So many reviewers miss the point with your imagery. (of course there is the possibility that I missed it, and they got it) Your piece shows how the destruction of innocent life is connected to the damnation of yourself, and you portrayed it with a powerfully disturbing flair. Rarely have I seen a flash illustrate an important point. Even more rarely have I seen one do it well.
